CURRENT PRODUCTIONS LET ME UPGRADE YOU Genre: Urban/Romantic Comedy Status: Active Development Log line: Pretty Woman... the "urban" version. Synopsis: Kelley Lassiter is a successful relationship columnist and one of New York City's buppie class. While seeking a change from the "high siddity" women he's used to wooing he falls for Nia, a single mother from his old neighborhood. But when he discovers that she makes her living as an exotic dancer, he sets out on a personal mission to upgrade her and her son's lifestyle. The problem is that she's been burnt in the past by a man who was more interested in saving her than he was with loving her. WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE "SAVED"? Genre: Documentary Status: Active development Log line: Ray Brooks has no background in media or film... He's not a spiritual guru or a preacher... He's an ordinary Christian who sets out to communicate the simple, yet complex concept of salvation and address questions about the cornerstone of his Faith. Synopsis: With six-plus billion people on Earth, there are thousands of belief systems that seek to define the purpose for man's existence and prescribe pathways for achieving that purpose. Likewise, there are some belief systems that discount any higher purpose at all. However, if there is something greater at the center of our existence, GOD to be specific, then how are we supposed to relate to HIM, HER, IT, ETC and even more importantly, how do we reach HIM? Well, for Christians the answer is simply acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of the world; that the creator of Heaven and Earth impregnated a virgin girl and who gave birth to Himself, only to be tortured and ultimately killed as a human sacrifice to Himself for our sins.. And He did this because He loves us... Not quite so simple a concept to accept, let alone explain. The problem, too often is that Christians find themselves trying to communicate this great mystery as it were as simple as adding 2 and 2. In this project, Ray Brooks sets out to do just the opposite; to listen to the legitimate questions, concerns and doubts about the concept of salvation and answer them in a way they can (hopefully) understand. PRODUCTIONS IN DEVELOPMENT VERISIMILITUDE Genre: Drama/Comedy Log line: Anyone who claims to hear the voice of God is strange enough. But when that person is a Broadway actor, he's either stoned out of his mind or telling the truth. Synopsis: Benoit Kirkman-Bay is a hedonistic theater star who lives the wild life. Along with his extensive arrest record for narcotics possession and prostitute solicitation, is a mantel of Tony Awards that clearly makes him the best actor on Broadway. his life is turned upside-down, when he is attacked and beaten into a coma by right-wing extremists after accepting the role of Jesus in the play "Nazareth." He awakens, claiming to hear the voice of GOD, who has chosen him (of all people) to liberate the poor and destitute of New York City. ARCHANGEL Genre: Drama Log line: A troubled inner-city basketball prodigy finds an unlikely father figure in a white, southern coach, who can't come to grips with his own son's down syndrome. Synopsis: Marcé Cooke is a basketball star in the streets of New York City. However, after being arrested, his high school guidance counselor convinces the court that transferring him to a new environment would be a viable alternative to juvenile detention. He is sent to the 99 percent white and majority wealthy Madison Lakes boarding school, where he immediately bumps heads with Jack Shepherd, the hardened basketball coach whose family life is suffering because of his inability to come to terms with his son's down syndrome. PAST PRODUCTIONS THE MOURNING AFTER Genre: Drama Status: Web miniseries completed. Further feature development pending. Log line: On 9/11 Chris and Felicia were supposed to be in the World Trade Center.... They were in a hotel room having an affair instead... Synopsis: The morning after a heated affair, Chris and Felicia prepare to go to work at the World Trade Center, only to discover that it's been attacked and their lives have been spared as a result of their infidelity. Since that day, their lives have taken dramatically different paths, with Felicia picking up the pieces of her life and Chris loathing his own. 3 years later, Felicia and Chris reunite, sifting through guilt and torment, in search of redemption. A CHRISTMAS WISH Genre: Drama Log line: To be reunited with his murdered wife, Asia makes a deal... The catch is that he has to relive the day of her death over and over again in order to be with her. Synopsis: One year after his wife was murdered on Christmas Eve, Asia finds himself on the verge of suicide. One trigger away from ending his life, the doorbell rings and the visitor suggests that he can reunite Asia with his beloved wife. Asia accepts the deal, only to discover that the catch is he must relive the day of his wife's death over and over again, in order to be with her.
